Licensed to Kill Documentary

In this two-time Sundance Award winner, Oscar®-nominated filmmaker Arthur Dong takes us on a frightening journey into the minds of men whose contempt for homosexuality has led them to murder. Attacked himself in 1977 by gay bashers, Dong confronts killers of gay men face-to-face and asks them directly: “Why did you do it?” Described by Time Out New York as “close to being the ‘In Cold Blood’ of documentaries,” the film includes video of actual gay bashings, crime scenes, murderers’ confessions and graphic evidence from police files, as it fuses together the powerful stories of seven convicted killers. Meet a young man who killed as a means of defense from alleged sexual advances; a religious, self-loathing serial killer wrestling with his own same-sex desires; a child abuse victim who feared losing his manhood; an army sergeant angry over gays in the military; and a self-described homebody looking for easy prey.

History Conspiracies - The Roswell Incident

After finding a strange object in New Mexico in 1947 rumours of UFOs started to spread fast. According to many people the US government is still hiding something. The Roswell UFO Incident was the recovery of an object that crashed in the general vicinity of Roswell, New Mexico, in June or July 1947, allegedly an extra-terrestrial spacecraft and its alien occupants. Since the late 1970s the incident has been the subject of intense controversy and of conspiracy theories as to the true nature of the object that crashed. The United States Armed Forces maintains that what was recovered was debris from an experimental high-altitude surveillance balloon belonging to a classified program named “Mogul”; however, many UFO proponents maintain that an alien craft was found and its occupants were captured, and that the military then engaged in a cover up. The incident has turned into a widely known pop culture phenomenon, making the name Roswell synonymous with UFOs. It ranks as the most publiciz

Apartheid Did Not Die

Apartheid based on race is outlawed now, but the system always went far deeper than that. The cruelty and injustice were underwritten by an economic apartheid, which regarded people as no more than cheap expendable labor. It was backed by great business corporations in South Africa, Britain, the rest of Europe, and the United States. And it was this apartheid based on money and profit to allow a small minority to control most of the land, most of the industrial wealth, and most of the economic power. Today, the same system is called – without a trace of irony – the free market.

Spontaneous human combustion (SHC) describes reported cases of the burning of a living human body without an apparent external source of ignition. There have been about 200 cited cases worldwide over a period of around 300 years. There are also many hypotheses which attempt to explain the various cases of human spontaneous combustion: Paranormal explanations (e.g., a ghost or divine intervention) Natural explanations based on an unknown and otherwise unobserved phenomenon (e.g., production of abnormally concentrated gas or raised levels of blood alcohol cause spontaneous ignition) Natural explanations that involve an external source of ignition (e.g., the victim dropped a cigarette) Objections to natural explanations typically refer to the degree of burning of the body with respect to its surroundings. Indeed, one of the common markers of a case of SHC is that the body — or part of it — suffered an extraordinarily large degree of burning, with surroundings or lower limbs comparati
