9/11 – The Conspiracy Files

The Conspiracy Files delves into the final mystery of 9/11: a third tower at the World Trade Centre, which along with the Twin Towers, also collapsed that day. Produced by the BBC, The Conspiracy Files investigates the growing number of conspiracy theories surrounding the 9/11 attacks.

Incredibly, some still believe the American Government allowed or actively helped the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. Those who question the official version believe the World Trade Center buildings were actually demolished by explosives; others ask why there was so little damage to the Pentagon’s outer wall if a plane really had hit it. And why was America so unprepared when terror attack warnings had been received? The documentary makers travels across the United States to investigate, speaking to eye witnesses and tries to separate fact from fiction.

What really riles me is the safe ground on which many of these conspiracy theories choose to stand on; in other words, they have an almost overwhelming desire to couch their theories on a bunch of unanswered questions that become increasingly complex despite all the evidence that serves to answer their questions. However, once they are asked to present an alternative theory that would also be held to some type of rigorous scientific examination, they either refuse to provide one or the ones that they DO provide inevitably fall apart under closer scrutiny.

We all know what happened on 9/11, the day the world changed. Or do we?
