FINGER OF GOD is a documentary story following the quest for truth of a young professor who has been confronted by a miraculous event. Darren Wilson teaches film and media at Judson University near Chicago.
He is a skeptical, even cynical Christian whose paradigm is exploded when his aunt and uncle experience a truly miraculous physical healing. This event causes Darren to search for what is the real norm in the community of Christ.
Darren's journey takes him from churches in the United States to mission fields in Europe and Africa. One African pastor tells him of a young man beaten to death, came back to life several hours later and forgave his tormentors, which brought them to Christ. Another young preacher on the campus of Yale sees cynics healed in drive-by miracles. Even discussing these events pushes the boundaries of normalcy.
The Latin word for miracle means a sign, so a miracle is a sign of God's intervention. Darren Wilson shows that miracles may be more common than most people think. His journey is compelling because he is as skeptical as the viewer. He does not sugarcoat the events or spiritualize the answers. He seeks the truth and reveals the presence of God in our world today.
One viewer who was extremely sick and skeptical changed their entire view about healing after watching this documentary. It is made with a sure hand and an extremely low budget. Even so, it is compelling to watch. FINGER OF GOD will transform both believers and nonbelievers.
